Our club has mandated that all Spektrum radios are not yet allowed. The Board of Directors stated that until Spektrum comes up with a unit that can control full size RC aircraft, we didn't want someone showing up with a larger than park flyer airplane and then try to follow others around the sky when they have conventional radios. They do not feel that they should allow anyone (that has a radio that is not approved by the AMA) access to the field for liability reasons. Until the AMA comes up with a ruling about these radios at an AMA sanctioned club we will not allow them to be used at our field.

Hey Joe!

I see the date on this posting. We have several people using spread spectrum gear. Has your club revised this ruling?

Andy

The AMA has long since accepted Spread Spectrum Radios.

I've seen the Spektrum DX-7 fly up to 40% scale, and full power turbine jets. How much more full size can you get?

I'd bet this post was about the first DX-6, which was limited range.
