I decided to post the pix over here as well as SH...work is progressing, gear is now on, controls in, working on D-tubing the wing. I'll get some more pix soon.

hmmmmmm..................it will stand out at the circle. Ray this one looks great. I'm curious as to how long the flappy thing on the back end of it will be? Full span?
I'm guessing .049 witk a balloon tank.

What flappy thing on the back end??? That's the trailing edge of the wing; no flaps planned at all. The only control surface will be the elevator at the front.

You may (or may not) remember my last foray into canards; I started out with front elevator and rear wingflap...very quickly (like after one flight) disconnected the rear flaps and fixed them in place. Also put about a pound of lead on the nose to make it flyable. Hence the engine 'way out front on this one. I'd rather add tail weight than nose weight, less adventerous first flights.

Do you want to borrow one of my OS 25 FSR engines to power it?

It turns a 10 x 4 Top Flight Power Point wood prop at 10,800 RPM on old 10% fuel.

Ray,

Beautiful model

Then he is not asking too much, it could pass more information about the dimensions, etc.? I love this type of models and I'm always looking for information to build one for me.

Hugs

Span 28", chord 6.25, for area of 170 sq. in or so after deducting for tip shape. Weight as she sits, w/engine, 6 oz. Not bad, should come in at 8 oz. or less RTF.

Norvel .049 shown, I have a TeeDee .049 I may run on it, hafta test run it on the stand first.

CG right now is about 3" ahead of the LE, kinda noseheavy I think. I'll get the wing covered and painted, then recheck the balance--I can move the engine back about 3/4" if needed with just a little carving.

Cool LG, huh...

Just finished covering this evening, Frank...didn't pull the CG back as much as I thought it would, so I'll be cutting the front end back a little. Then LO and guides, as soon as I figure out where they go MOL; then paint, and...done.

I checked out your canard thread at Stunt Hangar. Your canard is drawing lots of interest. I hope you have lots of success with yours. The way some of the guys talked they don't fly well. I expect better from you.
BTW---I bought a 1/2A electric set up from Brodak and gave it to John Paris along with the Skywriter kit. Some time this year he'll have it flying. I'll make sure to get pix and video.

An electric SkyWriter...oughtta be great. Yeah, be sure and get video of it!

I expect my canard to fly well too, or I wouldn't waste time on it. You know all my designs, even the trainers, stunt reasonably well. No fun to fly otherwise.
