The plane looks great John. Tell Mike it's his pertiest one yet.
How much of the work did Mike do on it :?: I'm thinking he did a lot because the color scheme doesn't look like something you'd come up with on your own. Your planes are fantstic but I've never seen one of them decorated with all the checkerboards and graphics.
BTW---did he fly with his injured finger or did the injury come after the flying was done :?:

Frank,
We actually saw one similar to this in the back of one of the vehicles while at Brodak's and thought it would be easy enough to duplicate. I am not sure if it is a 100% copy or not, but I remember the tail being checkerboard and the transition from the red to black at the wingtips being this way. Michael did the work on this one with my watchful eye and applied the experienced touch where required. It was a pretty cool project, but I wish we could have started it a little earlier so that the power train could have been worked out. As it was, we did like 16 flights on Saturday before leaving for the Nats and settled on the package that was successful on my ARF Cardinal. It served us well, but needs additional optimization for the new airplane.

Michael did fly his Junior and Walker Trophy flights injured, but then again, so did Bill Werwege.
John

Plageurism is always a good way to compliment whoever the idea was gotten from. Plus it's a good way to come up with a cool color scheme. I'm still using the scheme Wayne Wiley sent me.
Mike is quite the man flying with an injury. Some guys would have called it quits. I hope he manages to keep his hands in good shape. Too many times cought in machinery is hard on the fingers. Did he ever tell you what the problem was with the bike? And is he bringing the trophy to show off at Keats's Fly-In?
