I never did follow up with a report on the running characteristics with the conversion. I'd like to say that it was problimatic but it was a non event for me. My flying buddy John Recker called me up and said that he had a problem with his new Evo with the conversion and it wouldn't run and when it started it ran backwards. Intrigued I told him to bring it to the field yesterday and we'd run it and see what was up. Hate to say it but he didn't open the needle valve enough and when overprimed it started backwards and died Told him that it was Randys needle valve and to open it up 2 more turns. It started and ran fine and with the .150 diam hole in the venturi it had probably the most solid run of any new engine that I've seen in awhile.
that is the advantage of getting a new venturi, you can custom fit for what you want to achieve in them in the matter of a stunt run.
So does anyone have another Evo 36 that they don't like and want to get rid of and you havent beat it to death and will sell it CHEAP. Let me know.

I don't know Frank,.The last 2 that I got were $37.50 apiece ant the guy was happy to part with them. They start on one flip and will do a pattern on 4 oz of Omega fuel and have a consistant run and quit. Whats not to like about them. That said if a few are good more is better. You have to remember that they have more power then a Fox,Brodak 40 and a few others and can usually do that well without ever having to peak it out.
Like I said, what's not to like.
Oh, how is your phone battery doing??????? inquiring minds want to know.

The phone battery is a little weaker than it was last week.
Don't worry I'll get it replaced before flying season starts.

As per the Evo------I gave into the temptation to get hi-zoot engines with the idea that maybe I'd get a few more points on account of them. However, I can fly just as poorly with any engine.

For anyone who is still interested in getting an Evolution 36 Horizon finally has them back in stock. Not with the new needle valve assembly and venturi though. That comes on the next run.
