Quite awhile ago I posted that i was going to convert another heli engine to c/L. It got put on the back burner for awhile but it is finally done.
Bill Gruby turned down the heat sink head for me and it is a really good piece of work.
The engine needed a new crankshaft as the heli is too short for our use and would need a special nut to hold the prop on. The TT36 and the 39 both use the same one. Put a frank Bowman ring in and new gaskets and screws. Everything else was in perfect condition. I'll try and get it out and run it in the next few days. so for now i guess i have the dubious honor of having the only non heli/C/l TT 39 engine in existance.
Some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Frankie, you can use it too. LOL

That head makes it look kind of like a mushroom.
Why on earth did you do all that? And more important---are you going to use it in a model?

Frank,

One never needs a reason to do anything. Simply the fact that it was there and unusable to me in it's present form was reason t do it. Oh and it gave me an unusual engine to have and post a picture on the forum. Outside of that is runs pretty good and is suprisingly adaptive to stunt flying and certainly has more going for it than an OS40FP in it's run characteristics.

Dennis---I keep forgetting that "it was there" idiom. And I read the post and liked the pix.

I have the Minute Man which is set up for TT.36---toward the end of the season I'll let you use it for a test bed. I'd want to get video.

Frank,

I'll send it to you and you can do the work. I'm getting too lazy to do much of anything anymore.

But I've been sending every thing else to John to do------that laziness is catchy.
I'm sure John would do the fixing if he could fly it.
